Pinkan Mambo Experienced a Drop During Live Streaming on TikTok by the Side of the Road

Becoming viral with an unusual act certainly makes Pinkan Mambo subject to netizens' criticisms. Various harsh comments often come her way on social media, which at times made the veteran singer's mental state feel down.

Pinkan admitted to feeling hesitant to continue her street performance because she felt she was disturbing public order. However, her spirit was revived thanks to her husband, Arya Khan, who urged her not to pay attention to what others say.

"Yes, at first I was able to drop (drop) too, like one day I told Arya 'I don't want to busk anymore, I don't want to walk, I looked at the VT-VTs like oh I'm disturbing the community, oh I'm scared, I smell bad'. Then Arya said 'That means your mentality is weak, like a crumbling cracker!'" said Pinkan Mambo when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, Monday (6/4/2026).

The husband's sarcasm actually became a spark of motivation for Pinkan to keep moving forward. She realized that the people who comment negatively will not help finance her children's international school needs.

"So arrogant. Well, the more they talk, the more I push myself. We know in that district it's okay to be escorted by guards, and also at the time you sing, it's during a quiet hour, that's not necessary, the audience is just looking for viewers," she said.

Pinkan now prefers to focus on her main goal, which is to provide for her family. She feels that there is no point in responding to the insults of netizens if her children are not fed and their future is not secured.

"And I see, oh my child goes to an international school, and I have a nice car, I live in a nice apartment, which means my child can buy good milk, good food, everything nice. If those who comment can't be like me?," Pinkan explained.

She also advises anyone experiencing similar situations to always maintain a strong mentality. For her, poverty is far scarier than just being insulted by unknown people online.

"So for me, I don't care what people say, what's important is I just want my child to have milk every day so that he can breastfeed and go to school, it doesn't have to be an expensive school, what's important is he can go to school and can buy milk, that's it," she concluded.
