Portrait of Tata Janeta Wearing a Hijab, Starting from a Dream and No Coercion from Others

Tata Janeeta appears in a style different from before. The wife of Raden Brotoseno is now confidently wearing a hijab in her daily life.

This change is apparently not due to coercion or pressure from others. Tata stated that the decision came from within herself, without anyone telling her to do so.

She feels that the urge came naturally, as if something was moving her heart. In fact, it all started from a spiritual experience that made her even more certain."MasyaAllah there were no demands from anyone, no one told me, it just suddenly became everything to cover my aurat," said Tata Janeta when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (4/8/2025).

"There's no one telling me to do this, I had a dream and kept looking around the house, the kids are always wearing hijabs, right? It's mandatory for women," she continued.

According to her, this is also a form of gratitude for all the good things that Allah has given her in life. That's why, Tata feels it's time to do something more meaningful personally."Allah has done so much for me, how can I not do this one thing? So I immediately wore the hijab that morning and everyone was astonished, 'Is this for real? She'll probably take it off tomorrow'," she said.

That feeling of certainty grew stronger as she often opened the Qur'an and found verses that seemed to affirm her choice. Tata has a habit of randomly opening the pages of the Qur'an when she has a problem."Yes, I had a dream, and then I like to read the Qur'an, I just open it randomly, if there's a problem or something, I hold the Qur'an and say Bismillah and open it, and often what comes up is about hijab," Tata explained.

It turns out that before fully committing to wearing the hijab, Tata had already started collecting hijabs. But back then, she felt unprepared to wear them."I was just told to wear the hijab, I had been collecting hijabs for about two or three months before I actually wore one, but when I tried it on, I felt like it didn't suit me, that was back then. So I accumulated a lot, and now I'm using them all, Alhamdulillah," she said.

Now Tata has been living her days with the hijab for over a year. She hopes to remain steadfast in this decision."It's been more than a year, just pray for me," she added.

Regarding challenges, Tata said there are definitely some. But so far, she feels that things have been made easier for her and she hasn't faced the problems that many people often worry about."There are some challenges, but since I started wearing the hijab, Alhamdulillah I have never felt hot. People say that wearing a hijab makes you feel hot or causes hair loss, but Alhamdulillah, I haven't experienced that," she concluded.
