Raffi Ahmad Fully Supports the Kagendra Esports Team at the Honor of Kings World Cup 2025

Kapanlagi.com - The Kagendra esports team has made history by qualifying as one of Indonesia's representatives in the prestigious Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) 2025, which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, starting July 15, 2025.

This achievement was obtained after Kagendra emerged as the champion in the inaugural national tournament of Honor of Kings Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL) Spring 2025. The KWC 2025 itself is an integral part of the Esports World Cup series, which is the highest competition in the Honor of Kings (HOK) ecosystem this year.

This tournament will bring together 18 of the best esports teams from various continents that have passed strict qualifications in their respective leagues. They will compete for the championship trophy and a total prize pool of US$3 million, making KWC 2025 one of the most prestigious events on the global esports calendar.

Full support flows for the Kagendra team, one of which comes from Raffi Ahmad, who currently serves as the Special Presidential Envoy for Youth Generation and Arts Workers. The husband of Nagita Slavina expressed his pride in Kagendra's success, which will bring Indonesia's name to the global esports stage.

According to him, this proves the synergy between the government, ministries, agencies, and state-owned enterprises in supporting outstanding young generations in the homeland. Raffi emphasized that esports is no longer just a hobby, but has become a promising profession for many young Indonesians.

"Alhamdulillah for entering the world championship, for the esports game, the HOK World Cup in Riyadh 2025 is very proud for all of us. It indeed proves that esports is extraordinary, it can unite the nation, uniting not only from Indonesia but to the whole world," said Raffi at the Kemenpora office, Central Jakarta, Friday (11/7/2025).

Raffi further highlighted Indonesia's great potential in the gaming industry. With the number of gamers ranking among the top three in the world, Indonesia has a significant opportunity in the development of this industry, from players and creators to the supporting ecosystem.

"And in terms of economic value, we should be proud, the economic value of our gaming industry is very large," he said.

This father of two also mentioned data from the Indonesian Game Association showing that the current global game valuation is over 180 billion US dollars, double that of the combined film and music industries.

Seeing this potential, Raffi emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, ministries, agencies, state-owned enterprises, and all related parties to jointly develop the gaming ecosystem in Indonesia from upstream to downstream.

"Therefore, we together with the government are preparing for the acceleration and development of the gaming ecosystem in Indonesia from upstream to downstream, that's why I am here collaborating with Telkomsel and other state-owned enterprises to support each other," said Raffi.

Then Raffi gave encouragement and motivation to the three representatives of Indonesia, including Kagendra, who will compete in Saudi Arabia. He advised them to maintain their health and the good name of the nation.

"Lastly, I would like to congratulate the 3 representatives of Indonesia, the team of 7 who are going to compete in Saudi Arabia, including Kagendra and other teams. Take care of your health, uphold the good name, hopefully, you can become champions and raise the red and white flag in e-sports worldwide," said Raffi.

"To my friends, stay motivated in your struggle. If you win, there will be a bonus from me, no need to mention how much, just know there will be one. It will be given by RANS, from my wife, hahahaha," added Raffi.

Meanwhile, Lesley Simpson, Vice President of Digital Lifestyle at Telkomsel, expressed her hopes for the Kagendra team. She believes that Kagendra's participation not only brings the spirit of competition but also carries the pride of the nation.
