Remembering His Friend, Addie MS Was Once Invited to Fight the Late Oddie Agam

The musician, whose full name is Addie Muljadi Sumaatmadja, tells the story of how he first met Oddie Agam when they were both involved in the music industry.

Apparently, Addie MS's presence in the orchestra world was thanks to Oddie Agam's encouragement. The late Oddie repeatedly invited him, but Addie MS rejected his offer at that time.

"(After agreeing to perform with Indra Bakrie) Well, it turned out to be a success. Finally, the three of us established Twilite Orchestra in 1991," said Addie MS when met at TPU Menteng Pulo, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (27/10) afternoon.

"So, this year, Twilite Orchestra has been standing for 30 years. Oddie Agam is one of the founders," he continued.

1. Invited to Fight

At one point, Addie MS was invited to fight with Oddie Agam due to a conflict regarding the Twilite Orchestra that he did not explain. However, at that time, Addie chose not to take the invitation too seriously.

"He (Oddie Agam) asked me out, 'let's just settle it'. When challenged, I laughed, 'we're already old'. But, Oddie was serious, I couldn't believe it," he said.

In addition, throughout their career with the Twilite Orchestra, Addie MS mentioned that Oddie Agam was more focused on the music industry or recording studio. Nevertheless, Addie MS thanked Oddie Agam for pushing him to be involved in the world of orchestra until now.
