Ria Ricis Forgives Former Security Who Threatened Her, But Emphasizes Legal Process Must Continue

Kapanlagi.com - Artist Ria Yunita, better known as Ria Ricis, attended the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (21/11/2024). She was present as a witness in the case of threats and extortion committed by her former security guard, Angga Pratama.

During the trial, Angga expressed his regret for his actions that harmed Ricis and her family.

"As the perpetrator of what was done to Mrs. Ria Yunita, once again I sincerely apologize to Mrs. Ria, and to her family," said AP in front of the panel of judges.

"I know I have made many mistakes that have caused too much harm, I apologize," he added.

The apology was immediately responded to by the judge, who asked if Ricis was willing to forgive. Ricis admitted she had forgiven, but she emphasized that the legal process must continue.

"Yes (forgiving). Sincerely while moving forward," she stated.

This case began with Ricis's report to the Metro Jaya Police on June 7, 2024. She reported AP for alleged threats via WhatsApp messages, where the perpetrator demanded a sum of Rp 300 million. If her demands were not met, AP threatened to spread personal photos and videos belonging to Ricis.

Ricis also expressed her sadness over this incident because she knew AP as one of the employees who was close to her family.

"He is one of the employees who knows us well. If friends see, we used to make videos together. So when this incident happened, it’s more about sadness," said the wife of Teuku Ryan.

Although she has personally forgiven AP, Ricis emphasized that the law must be upheld to create a deterrent effect.

"If all bad deeds can just be resolved by an apology, that would be too easy. So the legal process must continue," she said. She hopes this case can serve as a lesson for all parties.

In her statement after the trial, Ricis admitted that she was actually reluctant to be in court.

"This is an unwanted incident by anyone. I ask for your prayers that everything goes smoothly and is as fair as possible," she concluded.
