Ruben Onsu Ready to Take Responsibility After Being Named a Suspect

Ruben Onsu has been named a suspect in a case related to business. Amid the ongoing legal process, his new lawyer, Machi Ahmad, stated that his client remains committed to resolving the issue responsibly.

"And from my client, Mr. Ruben also has good intentions and is not panicking, but is being patient and focused on resolving this," said Machi Ahmad when met at the South Jakarta Police Station on Monday (24/8).

After receiving the power of attorney, Machi immediately opened communication with the reporting party through his legal counsel. This initial step is taken to find the best solution for the case being handled.

Machi Ahmad emphasized that he has officially received legal power from Ruben. After the appointment, he immediately established contact with the complainant's legal counsel to discuss the possibility of a settlement.

According to Machi, Ruben does not want to avoid the issue. The efforts made include seeking constructive solutions, including discussions about compensation for the complainant.

Communication between the parties is said to be ongoing to map out the available options. The goal is for the ongoing process to find a common ground without disregarding the legal procedures that must still be followed.

2. Ruben's Attitude According to His Lawyer

Machi assesses that Ruben's attitude reflects responsibility in facing the matter. He states that his client does not want to burden others when dealing with issues.

Ruben's personal character, which tends to be shy about asking for help, is also conveyed by Machi based on the communication that has taken place between them.

"If he doesn't talk about it, then he doesn't talk about it. And Bang Ruben, from my several communications, he is someone who does not want to trouble others. He is a very good person in my view, even shy to ask for help," Machi revealed.

3. Refund, Mediation Options, and Examination Agenda

In this case, Ruben is said to have refunded part of the funds to the reporting party. According to Machi, the refund was made this year with an amount of Rp100 million.

"If my client has already refunded 100 million, then he refunded 100 million," said Machi.

On the other hand, Ruben's side is opening the possibility of resolution through mediation with a restorative justice mechanism, as long as it is still feasible and agreed upon by the parties.

"At least we don't want to, if it can still be resolved here with mediation using a restorative justice mechanism, why should it continue like that," he said.

Machi ensured that Ruben will continue to follow all legal processes. The summons letter for examination as a suspect has been received, and the examination schedule is planned for August 28, 2026.

"Mr. Ruben will definitely be cooperative later if he is called as a suspect," concluded Machi Ahmad.
