When asked about this, Manoj Punjabi as the producer denied it. Because the story is purely from SimpleMan before the adaptation rights were bought with fantastic numbers.

"We don't play gimmicks like that. I think SimpleMan wouldn't have thought this would become a film," said Manoj, who was met at MD Place, Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, last week.

Furthermore, Manoj Punjabi said that the way SimpleMan speaks is so good that he and his team want to be as faithful as possible to the original source. So, that's the treatment that appears in the widescreen adaptation version.

The horror film KKN DI DESA PENARI is an adaptation of a horror story thread on Twitter written by SimpleMan. The thread went viral in 2019 and was immediately made into a film adaptation, although its release was delayed due to the pandemic.

Currently, Awi Suryadi's horror film has reached a total of 7.7 million viewers. This result is expected to continue to increase as the film is still being shown in hundreds of cinemas throughout Indonesia.
