Sad News, Keiji Fujiwara, Voice Actor of Anime CRAYON SHIN-CHAN, Passes Away

The actor, who voiced the character Nohara Hiroshi in the anime CRAYON SHIN-CHAN, is reported to have passed away due to cancer. The funeral of this man, born on October 5, 1964, was held privately by the family.

1. Temporary Hiatus

In August 2016, Fujiwara took a temporary break from his profession as a voice actor. This was due to him undergoing medical treatment for an undisclosed illness.

As time went on, Fujiwara returned to work in 2017. At that time, the agency stated that Fujiwara's health condition was still being monitored.

2. Starred in Many Works

In addition to voicing Shin-chan's father, Fujiwara has shown his ability by becoming a dubber in a series of famous anime, such as playing Maes Hughes in FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST, Leorio in HUNTER X HUNTER in 2011, Reno in FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN and FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, Shuichi Aizawa in DEATH NOTE, and Ali al-Saachez in GUNDAM 00.

Fujiwara also voiced Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark in the Japanese version of the film THE AVENGERS. Not only that, he also founded the talent management agency Air Agency in 2006 and served as the representative director until his passing.
