Sandy Pas Band Reveals Emotions When Richard Mutter Left in 'Our Loneliness'

"When Richard left, we created Our Loneliness. It's a mellow romantic song but it expanded PAS Band's fan base," said Sandy from PAS Band when met in the Epicentrum area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/8/2026).

According to Sandy, although the tone sounds mellow and romantic, the creative process of the song was filled with feelings of anger and disappointment. During that phase, Sandy from PAS Band and his friends expressed the loss of someone they considered family.

"When Richard left, we were sad, angry, rebelling within our band. Why did you leave? I'm angry because you left, but I'm sad because in PAS Band, you are not just a member, you are family," said Sandy.

Sandy's emphasis on personal closeness within the band illustrates why mixed emotions were present at that time. It was in that moment that feelings of sadness and anger converged in the creative process that eventually led to the creation of "Our Loneliness."

"Our Loneliness" was created as a medium to channel the protests and sadness of the band members. This work serves as a vessel for them to express the feelings that emerged after Richard decided to leave.

"PAS Band is a band whose works reflect what is felt at that moment. Richard left, we are all sad. Being sad is why the song is Our Loneliness," he concluded.
