Sintya Marisca Acknowledges It's Difficult to Build Chemistry with Khiva Iskak in the Film 'CLBK'

According to Sintya, the experience became a new challenge in her career journey as an actress. Because, for the first time, she was paired with an actor who is much older than her. "Building chemistry with Kak Khiva is actually quite challenging because it's my first time being a co-star with a man who is much older than me," said Sintya Marisca during a press conference at Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Friday (26/6).

Although she initially found it difficult, Sintya gradually began to find comfort during the shooting process. She admitted that Khiva's mature character actually helped her better understand the relationship between Ambar and Raka in the story.

In fact, the woman born in North Jakarta revealed that Khiva's character aligns with the type of man she likes. For her, the mature attitude is one of the factors that makes it easier for them to build closeness as co-stars. "But on the other hand, I am very helped because I personally do like the type of man who has a fatherly nature," she said.

Sintya then continued that Khiva's character truly reflects that persona. Although she mentioned it jokingly, she admitted to feeling comfortable collaborating with the 40-year-old actor during the production process. "Well, if Kak Khiva is really the 'dad' version," she added.

In addition to the age factor, Sintya admitted that their communication outside of shooting also posed a challenge. She even joked that Khiva often contacted her, while she is known for being slow to respond to messages, which created some amusing situations. "Kak Khiva sends me messages quite often. The funny thing is, I am the type of person who takes a long time to reply or even rarely responds. Maybe he felt that his love was one-sided," she explained.

However, both of them eventually found time to spend together in between the reading process. The casual conversations they had became an important foundation to strengthen the relationship between the characters before filming began. "Whenever we had time, we had quality time together, talked a lot. Those conversations ultimately became the fuel for me during the filming process of this movie," he said.

OLD LOVE CHAPTER TWO (CLBK) tells the story of Abi (Slamet Rahardjo) who is reunited with his first love, Sita (Widyawati), after decades apart. The meeting occurs when both have children and grandchildren, reopening old memories that have not truly ended. This film also stars Sarah Sechan, Kiki Narendra, Yusuf Mahardhika, Giselma Firmansyah, Sintya Marisca, and Khiva Iskak. OLD LOVE CHAPTER TWO (CLBK) is scheduled to be released in theaters across Indonesia starting July 2, 2026.
