Steven Sentenced to 2.5 Years in Fraud Case of Nearly 10 Billion Against Jessica Iskandar

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of the fraud case involving the suspect Christopher Stefanus Budianto (CSB) alias Steven has finally reached its final stage. The Panel of Judges of the South Jakarta District Court declared Steven guilty and sentenced him to 2.5 years in prison, as he was proven to have committed fraud against Jessica Iskandar.

The fraud case was carried out by embezzling several private cars owned by Jessica Iskandar. In the trial, the judge stated that Steven violated Article 378 of the Indonesian Penal Code regarding fraud.

"Judging, declaring the defendant Christopher Stefanus Budianto proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing the crime of fraud," the judge stated in his verdict at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (22/4).

"Imposing a sentence of 2 years and 6 months in prison on the defendant Christopher Stefanus Budianto," the judge continued.

1. Return One Unit of Alphard Car

The verdict is known to be lighter than the prosecutor's demand for Steven to be imprisoned for 3 years. In his decision, the judge also asked the defendant to return one unit of Alphard car to the witness, Jessica Iskandar.

According to the judge, what aggravates the situation is that the defendant's actions have harmed others, in this case, Jessica Iskandar, who is the victim.

"The mitigating circumstances are that the defendant behaved politely during the trial, and the defendant has never been punished before," said the judge.

2. Given 7 Days

After the verdict was read, Steven and his lawyer chose to think about it. Therefore, the judge gave them 7 days from the date the verdict was read.

It is known that Steven committed fraud amounting to Rp 9.8 billion against the woman known as Jedar by using the car rental scheme. Jedar was deceived and lost 11 luxury cars with a total loss of Rp 9.8 billion.
