April, a contestant from Cirebon in the Dangdut Academy 7 (DA7) Indosiar, successfully captured the attention of the judges and the audience during the Group 8 Final Audition held on Wednesday night, June 25, 2025. Her heartfelt performance while singing the song Anak yang Malang captivated the entire studio and garnered praise from the judges, especially Dewi Perssik and Wika Salim.
April, whose full name is Afriyani Mida Soleha, performed with full confidence and emotion. Her thick vocals and expressive stage presence made the judges not hesitate to give high appreciation.
Dewi Perssik, one of the main judges, even gave a standing ovation after April finished singing, indicating how impressed she was with April's performance that night.
"I see this girl as a true fighter, she sings continuously morning, noon, and night. I told her, 'you should join Dangdut Akademi' because you have great quality. Like tonight, you performed the song Anak yang Malang, it's wonderful how your thick voice conveys emotion," said Dewi, as reported by YouTube Indosiar, Thursday (26/6).
Not to be missed, Showimah also praised April for her performance, singing with a melodious voice. "Every time I go Live (on Instagram), netizens ask about (April)," said Showimah.
The cheers from the audience calling April's name further added to the festive atmosphere in the Indosiar studio that night. April's performance proved her quality as one of the standout contestants of DA7 this year.
April, along with four other contestants from Group 8, Robi (Jakarta), Yulia (Bangka Belitung), Sastra (Cianjur), and Tataw (Pandeglang), successfully secured tickets to the next round.
