Suspected of Shooting, Police Say Gathan Saleh's Urine is Positive for Drugs

Kapanlagi.com - Police continue to investigate the shooting case involving Gathan Saleh and the victim MAM. Based on the information provided, Gathan carried out the shooting while conscious.

Although Gathan is still considered a witness, a urine test has been conducted on him. East Jakarta Police Chief, Commissioner Pol Nicolas Ary Lilpaly, revealed that the urine test results showed Gathan tested positive for narcotics consumption.

"We checked his urine and we can confirm that the suspect tested positive for drug and psychotropic substance use based on his urine test," said Nicolas Ary Lilpaly, on Thursday (29/2/2024).

1. Positive Drug

Ary then revealed the type of drugs used by Gathan, stating that Gathan tested positive for using marijuana and psychotropic drugs.

"For marijuana and psychotropic drugs, it is in the form of benzodiazepine," he said.

2. Attempted Murder Allegations

However, the police did not further investigate this matter. The main focus of this case is the alleged attempted murder and possession of firearms without permission.

"That is not the object of the case, if we handle a drug case, then it becomes the object of the case," he said.

3. Possession of Firearms Without Permission

For his actions, Gathan can be charged under Article 338 in conjunction with Article 3 regarding attempted murder, and/or Article 1 paragraph 1 of Law No.12 of 1951 concerning carrying or possessing firearms or sharp weapons without permission.

"This is the alleged article that we impose on the suspect, which carries a prison sentence of 5 years and can be subject to detention," he added.

4. Not the First Case

Gathan Saleh Hilabi is the ex-husband of Dina Lorenza and Cut Keke. Prior to this case, Gathan had faced several other legal cases.

On February 3, 2021, Gathan Saleh Hilabi was arrested by the police for being caught in possession of marijuana. Not only that, Gathan is also suspected of assaulting Nathalie Holscher's assistant, Steffano Ellya Tingtingon, in December 2019.
