Taking a Taxi in Korea, Elma Dae Surprised by a Driver While Live on TikTok

The incident occurred when Elma and her friends were about to return to their accommodation after a night out in Hongdae. Since they did not have a local number to order a taxi through an app, they ultimately decided to hail a taxi on the side of the road.

"Let’s just flag down a taxi in Hongdae, it was really crowded at that time, and I sat in the front because I was the one who could speak Korean the best," said Elma.

At first, the journey went as usual. However, it wasn't long before Elma began to feel something odd about the taxi driver they were riding with.

"The driver was very active, his way of speaking was unique, and he was even live on TikTok while driving," she said.

1. A Bit Panicked

Feeling unsafe, Elma and her friends finally asked the driver to drop them off near a supermarket before reaching the inn.

"We don't want to be found out about where we're staying, especially since there are four of us girls. So we just asked to get off and continued walking to the Airbnb," she explained.

Fortunately, the journey that made them a bit anxious ended safely. "At first, I thought the driver was just quirky, but then he became increasingly strange. Luckily, everything ended safely," Elma concluded.

Interestingly, that unexpected experience actually inspired Elma to create a new series of content on social media with the hashtag #InciDae. "The reason I created the hashtag InciDae is because it's based on funny and unexpected incidents.

At the time, it wasn’t funny, but after it passed and became a joke, it turned out to be quite fun. Sometimes those kinds of things actually become ideas for my content," she added.
