Thariq Halilintar and Aaliyah Examined Regarding Hanania Travel, Assert They Are Only Witnesses

Muhammad Thariq Halilintar and Aaliyah Massaid have just responded to the summons from investigators of the Subdit Kamneg Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya. This celebrity couple attended to provide testimony regarding the alleged fraud case involving umrah pilgrims from Hanania Travel.

The police have named Ahmad Syah Farhan, the CEO of Hanania Group, as a suspect in the case that has harmed pilgrims by tens of billions of rupiah. The modus operandi employed by the suspect was to promise umrah departures, but thousands of pilgrims ultimately failed to depart.

Both expressed their shock at the legal case involving the travel agent. The couple has submitted about 30 answers during the process of the Examination Report (BAP) to the investigative team.

"This is for the examination, and giving a statement now doesn’t seem wise, let's see first, this is a police summons from them, we will convey the relevant matters first, I will definitely give a statement to you," said Sangun Ragahdo when met at Polda Metro Jaya, South Jakarta, Tuesday (9/6/2026).

Sangun Ragahdo explained that his client first received an offer for advertising collaboration or endorsement in November 2025. Thariq and his wife initially postponed the offer before finally conducting an in-depth check on the company's credibility.

"We do not deny that this is in the form of an endorsement. But you also need to know that there are various kinds of endorsements," he said.

It turns out that the celebrity couple did not fully enjoy the facilities for their pilgrimage departure for free. Thariq Halilintar and Aaliyah Massaid actually paid additional costs of up to Rp170 million because he brought along a large family group.

"The payment from Thariq is also not small. We have paid Hanania this and that amounting to almost 170 million, around 160 million," he said.

Thariq and Aaliyah emphasize that their position in this matter is merely as witnesses who are cooperative in assisting the police. They brought a number of documentary evidence of transactions to clarify the conflicting information circulating in the community.

"Yes, especially since we are very concerned because those who went for Umrah must have been saving for many years, so we are also very sad and very concerned. Because we also have parents who are worried about those who have saved for Umrah and everything. I really hope this is resolved quickly. Amen. Thank you, everyone," he said.
