The panel of judges explained how LM performed the abortion alone. The victim purchased the medicine online using the pseudonym "Alexa", which was then consumed with a carbonated drink. Shortly after drinking it, the victim experienced severe physical reactions.

"One minute the victim's child experienced stomach pain, felt cramps, fell asleep, and bled fresh blood according to the child's testimony. Then the victim's child asked the witness to clean the bathroom that was full of blood," said the panel of judges.

After the incident, LM immediately contacted Vadel to inform him that she had undergone an abortion. This action, according to the judge, was a consequence of the repeated sexual relations between the defendant and the victim.

Based on these facts, Vadel was declared guilty. The judge imposed a prison sentence and a large fine as a penalty.

"The sentence imposed on the defendant is a prison term of 9 years and a fine of 1 billion rupiah," said the panel of judges.

If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with a detention sentence of three months. This verdict is lighter than the public prosecutor's demand for Vadel to be sentenced to 12 years in prison.
