Tengku Dewi as the plaintiff is represented by her legal team. Meanwhile, Andrew Andika as the defendant is completely absent, even though he has received a summons from the court.

"The agenda is still the first hearing, which is the summons of the parties, but the defendant did not attend. However, according to the panel of judges, the defendant has been duly summoned and has received (the summons)," said Tiara Octavia, Tengku Dewi's legal counsel, at the Cibinong Religious Court on Wednesday (23/10/2024).

Tiara explained that her side does not know the reason behind Andrew's absence. On the other hand, Tengku Dewi's absence is due to the fact that there has not yet been a request from the panel of judges for her to attend. "Because there hasn't been a summons yet," said Tiara.

The panel of judges has decided to continue the next hearing on November 6, 2024. In the second hearing, Tengku Dewi is requested to attend, while Andrew is also expected to be present.

"If Tengku Dewi is asked to attend because she is the one who filed the lawsuit. That's why the panel of judges requested Tengku Dewi to be present at the hearing on November 6. But for the defendant, I don't know if he will attend or not," he said.

If both parties attend the next hearing, the mediation agenda will be carried out. However, if Andrew is absent again, the hearing will continue with a default judgment, which is a decision made without the presence of the defendant.

"If the parties are present, it means the next agenda is mediation, but if not, the decision will be verstek, a decision made without the presence of the defendant. But if Andrew doesn't come, it means the trial will go directly to (evidence) presentation," he said.
