The Stigma of Soap Opera Stars Still Lingers, Prilly Latuconsina Admits Difficulty in Getting Different Roles from Producers and Directors

Kapanlagi.com - Prilly Latuconsina has been working in the entertainment industry since she was young. Starting as a children's show presenter and then rising to fame when starring in the soap opera Ganteng-Ganteng Serigala.

Then Prilly started exploring the world of film by taking on supporting roles and eventually becoming a lead actress. However, out of the many offers that came her way, there hasn't been much trust in her ability to portray more challenging characters.

"It can be said that not many producers and directors believe that I can dissect characters that are different from before. Maybe it's because of the stigma that I grew up as a soap opera actor, not many invite me to participate in film festivals," said Prilly when met at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, on Friday (8/4/2023).

Because she felt there was no trust from the producer and director, when Prilly Latuconsina was offered to be involved in BUDI PEKERTI, she felt honored. Finally, that trust came to her.

"When Kak Wregas Bhanuteja and his producer offered it to me, I was like 'Are you sure you want to offer it to me?'. I feel honored to get an offer from them. Apparently, I was chosen because of my eye photo that Kak Wregas saw during the press conference," said Prilly.

Prilly Latuconsina's role in the movie BUDI PEKERTI directed by Wregas Bhanuteja is revealed to have never been played before. Because besides being an activist and indie musician, Prilly acts more with her eyes.

"If you often watch my movies, you must know that I am expressive. But here, Kak Wregas gives a challenge to act through the eyes. No need to talk much, cry, just through the eyes. When reading the script, it will definitely be experienced by many people who have social media. This is a good story about bullying that often happens on social media," said Prilly.
