Unhappy with Prison Sentence, Nikita Mirzani Officially Files Appeal

Kapanlagi.com - The legal battle of Nikita Mirzani seems far from over. After being sentenced to prison in the case involving Ismail Marzuki, Nikita's team has officially taken the next legal step by filing an appeal.

This step was taken because the legal team feels there are many irregularities and errors in the decision made by the panel of judges on October 28, 2025. Nikita Mirzani's lawyer, Galih Rakasiwi, directly confirmed the appeal submission.

1. File an Appeal

"Yes, thank God today went smoothly. As legal advisors for Nikita Mirzani, we will take legal action to file an appeal," said Galih Rakasiwi when met at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday, (11/3/2025).

As is known, Nikita Mirzani was found guilty and sentenced to prison for violating Article 27B paragraph 2 of the ITE Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. This case began with allegations of extortion, but in its ruling, the judge did not substantiate those allegations.

3. Pure Desire of Nikita

According to Galih, the decision to appeal comes purely from Nikita Mirzani's own desire, after they had an in-depth discussion in the detention center following the reading of the verdict.

"Based on the results of yesterday's discussion with Nikita Mirzani, we want to file an appeal. That's why we are filing it now according to Nikita Mirzani's request," he explained.

He emphasized that this step is not taken out of following the Public Prosecutor (JPU), but rather from a strong belief that the judge's decision is unfair. "It has nothing to do with the prosecutor filing an appeal, we are filing an appeal, it is not like that," Galih insisted.

6. Nikita Disappointed

The main reason behind this appeal is Nikita's disappointment with the judge's considerations, which are deemed to have ignored all the evidence and witnesses they presented. "The points of the appeal memorandum relate to the errors associated with the decision that was made yesterday," she stated.

With this step, Nikita Mirzani's side hopes to achieve justice at a higher court level. Galih also conveyed a message from Nikita asking for prayers from the public.

"Her message is just to pray, to keep an eye on this case, to pray. Until now, she asks for prayers for her freedom," he concluded.
