After several days in a safe location following the incident of his house being ransacked, Uya Kuya finally mustered the courage to appear before the public for the first time. This moment occurred when he visited the East Jakarta Metro Police on Wednesday (03/9/2025).

His arrival, accompanied by his wife, Astrid Khairunisha, immediately attracted the attention of the media who had been waiting for him. However, who would have thought, Uya Kuya himself admitted that he was unprepared and surprised by the reception.

"I don’t know about others, but for me, to be honest, this is the first time I’m going out to meet a crowd again," said Uya Kuya.

Uya also admitted he did not expect to be greeted by so many journalists. He feels he is not fully ready to give interviews, which shows how significant the psychological impact of the incident on him is.

"And I didn't expect that suddenly many journalist friends showed up, I wasn't really ready for an interview either," he said.

"My focus today is only on restorative justice specifically for this mother's case. As for the other alleged suspects, I don't know, that's a matter for the police process," he explained.
