Without Mpok Alpa, Aji Darmaji Still Prepares Eid Uniforms

Eid al-Fitr is synonymous with new clothes and family unity, including for the family of the late Mpok Alpa. Aji Darmaji ensures that the tradition of wearing Eid uniforms will continue this year.

Although his wife has passed away, he wants to maintain the habit they have been practicing for years with their children.

For this Eid, the choice of color and model of the clothes is entrusted to his daughter, Sherly. Aji admits that handling the uniforms has always been a priority so that they continue to look harmonious when celebrating the day of victory later.

"Every year we prepare uniforms, we definitely match with the kids, like that. Even though the late one is no longer here, we still match like that," said Aji Darmaji when met in the Warung Buncit area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (17/3/2026).

The daughter, Sherly, now takes on the role that her mother usually performed in choosing outfits. She admits to being quite selective in choosing because her father has his own standards when it comes to clothing that will be worn.

"It's me again, I'm the one who chooses, because Dad is a bit fussy about colors," Sherly said briefly.

Aji Darmaji also confirmed his daughter's statement. He feels that the color of the clothes worn must really suit him. This habit had often made the late Mpok Alpa quite troubled while she was alive.

"So when I wear clothes, the color has to match my body. When the late one was still around, wow, I used to change colors a lot. Since the late one was still here, I would change colors, right, Sis? Wow, we could order two or three times... but once it's done, yes, Sis, it's done, then we order again," explained Aji.

This family has also prepared spare clothes so they won't run out when the holiday arrives. Aji revealed that usually they prepare more than one outfit to welcome guests and socialize."Two, three outfits," said Aji Darmaji.
