Harris Nizam, the director, mentioned that he had been eyeing Zoe Abbas as a candidate to portray Nike Ardilla. Finally, he tried to offer her the role.

"When I was stalking her Instagram, 'wow, she really looks like Nike Ardilla'. That's my perspective," Harris said at XXI Kemang Village, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (24/10/2023).

"And she's afraid, not confident, embarrassed, not brave, that's actually the main point why I chose her. Because for me personally, a player who is afraid, not brave, will definitely learn a lot to realize her character," said Harris.
