Afgan and Lesti Kejora Only Practiced for 10 Minutes Before Performing Together at SCTV's 36th Anniversary

Kapanlagi.com - Afgan and Lesti Kejora successfully captured attention with their collaborative performance at the Peak Night of SCTV's 36 XtraOrdinary Anniversary. Both performed a mashup concept, although the preparation for the performance was done in a very short time.

Afgan revealed that he and Lesti only had about 10 minutes to practice before going on stage. This limited time posed a challenge as they had never practiced together before.

"Ten minutes. Wow," said Afgan at the Emtek City Studio, Daan Mogot, West Jakarta, Monday (24/8/2026).

1. 30-Minute Practice Before Performing

Lesti confirmed the statement. She said that she and Afgan tried to blend their voices for the first time on the same day before performing in front of an audience.

"30 minutes before going on air, wow. We really haven't practiced together. Not yet, just on the day itself. Yes, really," said Lesti while laughing.

Even though they are used to performing on stage, the short preparation time still made both of them feel nervous. Afgan admitted to feeling anxious because this performance was his first experience duetting with Lesti live on television.

"I am indeed nervous. Because it's the first time with Lesti. And every live TV performance is definitely nerve-wracking," said Afgan.

2. Lesti Was Worried

Lesti felt the same way. Rizky Billar's wife admitted that she was worried about making mistakes while performing the mashup with Afgan, especially since they had to combine two songs with different characters.

"Same, honestly. Of course, we were scared, 'oh no, what if we mess up, oh no'," said Lesti.

3. Smooth Performance

Afgan then explained that the concept of a medley or mashup indeed has its own challenges for singers. The transition from one song to another must be done precisely so that two songs with different characters still sound harmonious when performed together.

"Of course, especially since usually when collaborating like that, whether it's a medley or mashup, it's difficult. Because the songs are different but merged into one, just imagine that," explained Afgan.

The concerns were finally alleviated after their performance went smoothly. Lesti also felt relieved to see the audience's response enjoying their collaboration on stage.

"But thank God it went smoothly, the audience seems happy," said Lesti Kejora.
