Duet Ikhwan and Murama Received 3 Standing Ovations, Performed the Song 'Jalan Datar'

Kapanlagi.com - The duet of Ikhwan and Murama successfully captivated the judges while performing the song "Jalan Datar" on the Top 42 Dangdut Academy 8 stage. Their performance received three standing ovations (SO) from Soimah, Dewi Perssik, and Lesti due to their vocal quality, harmonization, and well-executed improvisation.

Soimah was the first judge to give her comments. She admitted that she had been paying attention to Ikhwan from the start and hoped that the singer from South Sulawesi would continue to show progress during the competition in Dangdut Academy 8.

"First, let's talk about Ikhwan. Ikhwan really caught my attention. I always hope that Ikhwan remains consistent. And he should develop, grow even more. What you haven't been able to do, you must be able to do here. If you start to decline, be ready, I will pull your hair, I will torture you," said Soimah.

According to Soimah, Ikhwan's main strength lies in the character of his voice and his vocal embellishments, which have been evident since the auditions. However, he feels that this ability has not been fully showcased during duet performances because Ikhwan chooses to adapt to his partner.

"Why do you seem to hold back your embellishments? I'm sure you haven't fully expressed them. He is in a duet, he is not selfish. So he adjusts. In the refrain, he generally takes one breath. Even though at the end he is almost out of breath, the others are all full one breath," explained Soimah.

Not only praising Ikhwan, Soimah also expressed appreciation for Murama. She assessed that Murama has a soft voice, good pitch control, and commendable improvisation skills. Even when asked to repeat a part of the song without musical accompaniment, Murama was noted to hit the notes accurately right away.

"Murama, your voice is really soft, very pleasant. Your embellishments are also nice. The kids have to be smart, right? He directly hits the notes, even before the music cues the pitch. Your voice is good, your face is beautiful, you control the notes well, your embellishments are great. It seems like you made the right choice," said Soimah to Fildan as the coach.

Fildan confirmed that Murama is one of the participants with high creativity in improvisation. According to him, several improvisations displayed by Murama are actually his own creations, both when performing solo songs and duets.

"I am very happy, proud to see my talented students. Murama is one of my smart students. When he makes improvisations, he rarely gets them from others; he creates them himself. Whether it's a solo song or a duet, some of the improvisations are also from him," said Fildan.

Dewi Perssik assessed that the performances of Ikhwan and Murama show that both are ready to compete in the competition. She sees that both have maturity in singing as well as a good attitude while receiving feedback from the judges.

"Both of them, in my opinion, are already accomplished. Both are mature. It’s just about how you can be consistent. Don’t feel comfortable in a safe zone. Learning in an unsafe zone is better than being calm and still in a safe zone," advised Dewi Perssik.

3. Lesti is Satisfied

In line with Dewi Perssik, Gilang Dirga reminded that Dangdut Academy is a place for participants to continue learning and trying many things. Meanwhile, Lesti admitted that she does not feel satisfied because their performances were deemed too good that she only enjoyed them without finding many corrections.

"If anything, I actually feel unsatisfied. Because you all are too good. So, honestly, I have no corrections; I just enjoyed your performances," said Lesti.
