Murama Advances to the Top 42 of Dangdut Academy 8, Still Holds Dream of Duet with Lesti Kejora

For Murama, this achievement feels very special because since childhood, she could only watch the grandeur of the D'Academy stage from her television screen.

Now, the dream that once felt so far away has finally become a reality. At the age of 14, Murama never imagined she could stand on the same stage as talented dangdut singers from various regions in Indonesia. She continuously expresses her gratitude.

"I can't believe I've reached this point. I used to just watch people on TV, and now I can be among the 42 academicians," said Murama when met at the Emtek Indosiar Studio on Monday (13/7/2026).

Getting through to D'Academy 8 has not yet satisfied Murama. He still harbors a big dream that he wants to achieve someday, which is to sing on stage together with Lesti Kejora.

For Murama, Lesti is not just a famous dangdut singer. Since he was little, he has idolized the performer of those hit songs and made her an inspiration in singing. Therefore, the opportunity to duet with Lesti has become one of his targets to achieve.

"I've wanted to duet with Bunda Lesti since I was a kid. Because she is really my idol," he revealed.

Not only Lesti, Murama also admitted that he wants to collaborate with Selfi Yamma. He admires the distinctive vocal style of the singer from South Sulawesi and hopes that someday he can learn directly while singing together.

Entering the top 42 made Murama increasingly aware that the competition in D'Academy 8 would not be easy. According to him, each participant has their own vocal character and strengths. This made him feel nervous at times.

"It's masyaallah, I became really nervous, Kak. Because my friends have their own characteristics and strengths too," he said.

Nevertheless, Murama did not want his nervousness to hinder his progress. He chose to focus on practicing, increasing his song memorization, and continuously honing his vocal abilities to deliver the best performance in each round.

Interestingly, when asked about the characteristics he has as a singer, Murama admitted he is still searching for it. For him, the journey in D'Academy 8 is a valuable opportunity to learn and discover his own musical identity. With that spirit, he hopes to go further in the competition and one day fulfill his big dream of duetting with Lesti Kejora.
