Dangdut Academy is once again producing new talents ready to shine on the Indonesian dangdut music stage. One participant who has managed to capture attention is Listen, an 18-year-old teenager from Kendal, Central Java.

His motivation to join the Dangdut Academy stage is none other than to make his parents proud. He also expressed his desire to expand his wings towards success in the entertainment world through this Dangdut Academy 8 stage.

"The reason I joined DA this year is mainly to make my parents proud and also to broaden my wings for my success," he said when met at the Emtek Indosiar Studio on Thursday (9/7/2026).

Listen's love for music has actually grown since he was in the 5th grade. Before focusing on dangdut music, Listen first sang pop genre songs.

Interestingly, Listen's participation in this year's Dangdut Academy is his first experience in a singing competition. He admitted that he had never participated in any singing competitions before.

"This is my first time joining a competition," he said. This first experience has taken him straight to the top 53 of Dangdut Academy season 8.

Listen expressed his gratitude for being able to come this far. Full support flows from his family and friends during his competition.

"Alhamdulillah, my family and environment are all supportive," he said.

In her journey in Dangdut Academy, Listen revealed that one of the DA alumni who inspired her is April.

According to her, April is a cool figure, has a great voice, and is beautiful. She also hopes to have the opportunity to collaborate with April someday.
