Anisa Bahar Continues Legal Process for Cover Song 'Gapapa'

This certainty was conveyed through her latest post on her personal Instagram account after the previous legal notice received no response.

Anisa stated that she is preparing legal steps with her team and hopes that this process will have a deterrent effect. According to her, this issue is also related to the protection of the public, especially children, from content deemed inappropriate.

1. The Beginning of the Controversy Originated from Changes in Song Lyrics

The dispute began when Icha Chellow and Mala Agatha performed the song "Gapapa" by Anisa Bahar with altered lyrics. The new lyrics were deemed to contain vulgar elements and suggestive of sexual activity.

This change prompted objections from Anisa Bahar. She considered the action not only as altering her creative work but also as presenting content that could have a negative impact on society.

For Anisa, the modified lyrics are not suitable for public consumption, especially by children who can easily access content on social media.

2. Cease and Desist Ends Without Response

Before bringing this matter to the legal realm, Anisa Bahar first sent a cease and desist letter to Icha Chellow and Mala Agatha. In the letter, they were given 3x24 hours to provide clarification or show good faith. However, by the deadline, Anisa reported that she had not received any response.

After that, the Indonesian Madura Alliance (AMI), with the support of Anisa Bahar, reported Icha Chellow and Mala Agatha to the police for alleged use of inappropriate language and content that leans towards pornography.

3. Assert That the Case Remains Processed

Through her latest post on Instagram, Anisa Bahar denied the assumption that she chose to remain silent in facing the controversy.

"God willing, hopefully, just pray that Mommy will not stay silent in this matter and Mommy will soon process this issue to create a deterrent effect for them," she stated.

Anisa explained that legal processes require thorough preparation. Therefore, she has discussed with lawyers and several related parties before proceeding with the next legal steps.
