Andika Mahesa admits that he still has the desire to have more children even though his kids are now growing up. The vocalist of Kangen Band said that the presence of a small child would be a new motivation in the midst of his not-so-young age.

This desire arises because his eldest child has now entered college. According to Andika, he misses the moments of playing and spending time with younger children.

"Well, when the kids are all grown up like this, hopefully, the prayers will still be granted with another child so that there’s still someone to play with, even when tired," said Andika Mahesa when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/7/2026).

Andika even hopes to still be given the opportunity to have two to three more children to complete his family. "Because at an age that is no longer young, the children are all grown up, so I need maybe two, two, three more children," he said.

For Andika, children are a blessing that cannot be measured by material wealth. He believes that when meeting friends or relatives, the most common question is about the number of children, not the wealth one possesses.

"The point is we never flaunt our wealth; when we meet friends, it's always how many children do you have? It’s never how much wealth do you have? It’s never how many cars do you have? It’s not like that. In the old days, it was always how are you, how many children do you have now? For sure," he said.

The owner of the nickname Babang Tamvan also emphasized that he never considers children to be a burden. On the contrary, he is grateful every time he is given the trust to be a parent.

"Well, you know, those kids are entrusted to us, not everyone has children like that. So if we are given children, we should be very happy about it. Kids are not a burden, so just relax," he said.

When asked about his eldest child, Andika mentioned that his beloved child is now around 18 to 19 years old and is currently pursuing education in college. "The oldest is in college. The age is standard, around 18 or 19," he concluded.
