Kapanlagi.com - Melani's journey in Dangdut Academy 8 began with a sweet achievement. The contestant from Sidrap, South Sulawesi, successfully advanced to the Final Audition in her first attempt at this dangdut talent search competition.
Melani is now competing alongside other participants in Group 4. She admitted she was surprised to break into the top 53, considering this is her debut on the national television stage.
"If it's DA, it's my first time. Alhamdulillah, I'm definitely happy, very grateful to be given this golden opportunity. I'm just so happy," said Melani when met at Studio 5 Emtek City, West Jakarta, Friday (3/7/2026).

Although she has come a long way, Melani admits she hasn't set high targets. Her main focus is to take this opportunity to learn as much as possible.
"My motivation is because I want to gain more knowledge, I want to learn more here with great people," she said.
For her, being able to stand on the Dangdut Academy stage is a dream that has finally come true after a long time.
"Masyaallah, it has always been Melani's dream to be on this stage," said the 20-year-old girl.
Before joining the Dangdut Academy, Melani was quite active in various singing competitions in her area. Interestingly, she actually started her musical journey by performing struggle songs before eventually delving into the dangdut genre.
"Since the 3rd grade of junior high school, I've liked performing, joining competitions, participating in events. At first, I didn't start with dangdut, I was performing hero songs, struggle songs," she concluded.
