Kapanlagi.com - Sahwan is one of the contestants who successfully advanced to the Final Audition of Dangdut Academy 8 (DA 8). The 20-year-old youth from Sampang, Madura, claims to have loved dangdut music since he was in junior high school and is now ready to showcase his best abilities on the national stage.
Sahwan stated that his love for dangdut grew since the 7th grade of junior high school. He listened to many classic dangdut songs performed by legends such as Rhoma Irama, Mansyur S, and Meggy Z as a foundation for shaping his vocal character.
"Because I've liked dangdut since I was a kid, since the 7th grade of junior high school. Old songs like Rhoma Irama, Mansyur S, Meggy Z," said Sahwan when met at Studio 5 Emtek City, West Jakarta, Friday (3/7/2026).

In addition to the dangdut legends, Sahwan also admits to idolizing Valen, the runner-up of Dangdut Academy 7. According to him, Valen's vocal character serves as an inspiration to continue developing his singing abilities.
"Yesterday I idolized Valen in DA 7, the runner-up. It's because of his voice; you can feel it when Valen sings," he said.
His success in advancing to the Final Audition was met with gratitude. Although he realizes the competition will become tougher, Sahwan chooses to focus on learning and continuously improving the quality of his performance.
"Alhamdulillah I'm very happy. I just have to learn and learn, to be like Valen," he said.
Sahwan also admitted to having met and sung with his idol. That moment became a motivation for him to perform at his best and bring the name of Madura to the stage of Dangdut Academy 8.
