Ratifah Binjai Tells About the Moment Her Eyelashes Came Off During a Prank by the Judges of D'Academy 8

The 14-year-old teenager became a topic of conversation on social media after a video of her crying until her eyelashes came off due to a prank by the judges went viral on TikTok.

The moment happened when the judging panel created a scenario as if only Ratifah received the Golden Ticket. At that time, she thought her sister, Shaki, had failed to advance to the next round, causing her to be unable to hold back her tears.

"So I was pranked there, I really cried a lot until my eyelashes came off, it went viral on TikTok," said Ratifah when met at the Emtek Indosiar Studio in West Jakarta on Wednesday (8/7/2026).

1. Audition with My Older Sibling

Ratifah shared that she and Shaki participated in the entire audition process together. After each of them performed a song, they were even asked to dance together before the results were announced.

"Once we got inside, I sang a few songs, three in total, then my older sibling went in, and then we were asked to dance together, right guys? Then after that, they said that the one who got the golden ticket was just me. I was shocked, I cried too because I hoped both of us would pass," she revealed.

Ratifah's tears fell as she felt sad about having to continue her journey without her older sibling. In fact, she didn't even realize that her false eyelashes had come off due to constantly wiping her tears.

"I immediately burst into tears, I was also doing this with my eyelashes because they came off and couldn't stick. So that's it, full of emotion, proud of myself and of course proud of my older sibling," she said.

Fortunately, the prank ended happily because Shaki was also declared to pass. Now, Ratifah is even more motivated to continue learning and realize her dream of becoming a successful singer alongside her sister.

"Of course, my motivation to join DA 8 is because I want to learn in the field of singing and I also want to be a successful singer, of course together with my sister," she concluded.
