HUT SCTV 36 Witnesses the First Duet of Afgan and Lesti Kejora

Kapanlagi.com - Afgansyah Reza and Lesti Kejora finally duet for the first time on the same stage. This moment occurred at the Peak Night of HUT SCTV 36 XtraOrdinary, even though they have both been under the same record label for over a decade.

Throughout their careers in the music industry, Afgan and Lesti have often met at various television events. However, the opportunity to unite them in a new collaboration came when the SCTV team offered the duet concept for the 36th anniversary celebration of the television station.

"We have actually been in the same label for quite a while, over a decade. And we often cross paths at TV events and all sorts, but no one has ever come up with the idea to unite us for a duet," said Afgan at the Emtek City Studio, Daan Mogot, West Jakarta, Monday (24/8/2026).

1. Collaboration Idea from SCTV

Afgan said that the idea for the collaboration came from the SCTV team. He immediately welcomed the offer to duet with Lesti on the stage of SCTV's 36th anniversary.

"This is the first time at SCTV's 36th anniversary. Then I was offered the concept by the SCTV team. 'If it's with Lesti, let's do it'," continued Afgan.

Lesti also expressed her happiness at finally getting the opportunity to sing with Afgan. Although they have known each other and met several times at various events, they have never collaborated directly on stage.

"Yes, that's right. I have met him before, but this is the first time with Kak Afgan," said Lesti.

2. Duet Challenge

In their debut performance, Afgan and Lesti performed a song with a mashup concept. Lesti admitted that the main challenge she felt was adjusting the transitions from one song to another so that their performance still sounded cohesive.

"There are, like, transitions, because... Yes, since it’s a mashup, that’s the most difficult part for me," said Lesti.

Unlike Lesti, Afgan felt that he did not have much difficulty adjusting his vocal character to Lesti's singing style. According to him, the song they performed still had a common thread musically, making it easier to blend.

"So we have a song titled the same, 'Bukan Cinta Biasa', Lesti sings a classic song. So we mash it up, so I didn't have much trouble because it's still considered pop, right, Malay," explained Afgan.

3. The Grand Stage of SCTV's 36th Anniversary

This opportunity to duet for the first time also made Afgan feel happy. He appreciates the SCTV 36 anniversary stage, which he believes is one of the grandest stages he has ever seen in SCTV's anniversary celebrations.

"I’m very happy to be able to collab for the first time with Lesti. And the stage is really grand. SCTV is one of the best stages I have ever seen at SCTV's anniversary. I'm happy to be a part of this event," said Afgan.

This first collaboration apparently opens the possibility for Afgan and Lesti to sing together again. Lesti also expressed her readiness if she gets the chance to duet with Afgan in the future.

"Of course, if there’s a chance, I would want to," Lesti said.

"Yes, yes, absolutely, I really want to," concluded Afgan.
