Melly Lee Remembers the Audition Days, Tells the Moment of 'Blessing of a Pious Child' While Waiting in Line for LIDA

The presence of Melly Lee at the audition location for Dangdut Academy 8 (DA 8) Jakarta brought back memories of her past. Seeing thousands of people lining up since early morning, Melly remembered her own struggle when she traveled from Cianjur to Bandung to participate in the LIDA audition a few years ago.

Melly then recounted an unforgettable moment that she referred to as an extraordinary stroke of luck during her audition. Initially, she was quite far back in the queue, but an unexpected event brought her forward to the front of the line.

Seeing the enthusiasm of the DA 8 participants who even traveled from as far as Kalimantan, Melly offered important advice. She emphasized that failure in auditions is not the end of everything, but rather a first step towards self-improvement.

"I was really touched because seeing their struggle was truly relentless in pursuing their dreams. Of course, seeing them line up like that reminded me of my own past because I also happened to be offline in Bandung back then," said Melly Lee when met at the Indosiar Studio, Emtek City, West Jakarta, Sunday (10/5/2026).

"I remember back then I was in line at around number 100, and suddenly a friend of mine, I forgot where he was from, asked me to go to the front, not to invite but to ask me to accompany him to the front to take the form to fill out the data," he said.

"As I entered, suddenly they were about to open and told us to line up 'come on, line up, line up,' and suddenly when it was time to line up, I was immediately put in queue number eight," he continued.

The incident still lingers in Melly's memory. She feels very grateful because thanks to the help of a friend whose name she has even forgotten, her path to success has become much wider.

"That was really a huge blessing, you know, it initially came at 5:30 AM, I was in line as the 100th or so, and suddenly, out of nowhere, I ended up being in line number eight," she said.

"I want to thank my friend even though I forgottheir name and what they look like, but thanks to them, I could immediately be in line number eight," she added.

"Whether I pass or not, it’s okay. For those who pass, I congratulate you, keep up the spirit, memorize the song, strengthen your mentality, prepare yourself, maintain your health, and always seek references. And for those who haven't passed, it doesn't mean you lost or failed, but it's the beginning of success," said Melly.

He hopes that participants will not give up easily if the results obtained do not meet their expectations. According to him, consistency in learning is the key for anyone who wants to dive into the dangdut music industry. "Don't give up easily, keep fighting, keep learning, and improve yourself from mistakes," concluded the singer from Cianjur.
