Rhoma Irama Appreciation LCLD 2025: Dangdut Ready to Go Global Through UNESCO

Kapanlagi.com - The grand finale of the Dangdut Song Creation Competition (LCLD) 6th edition officially took place on Friday (23/5/2025) night at the TVRI Auditorium in Jakarta. This competition showcased 12 of the best songs from four different categories, broadcast live on TVRI.

This event, organized by the Indonesian Dangdut Music Artists Association (PAMDI), serves as proof that dangdut music continues to evolve with various themes, ranging from love, social and cultural issues, religion, to national politics.

The chairman of LCLD 2025, Ridho Rhoma, explained that all songs have undergone a strict selection process by the judging panel. He also confirmed that one name can win in two categories as long as they meet the rules.

"All finalist songs have gone through a rigorous selection. If a songwriter has a work that becomes a finalist in two categories, this does not violate the rules because it has passed through a thorough judging session," Ridho explained.

1. More Innovative

He hopes that LCLD continues to be a platform for the expression and creativity of the community in preserving the existence of dangdut music amidst the development of the times.

"We hope LCLD can be a platform for the creativity of the Indonesian people in preserving dangdut music," added Ridho.

The Chairman of the DPP PAMDI, Rhoma Irama, was also present and expressed appreciation for the quality of the songs featured at LCLD 2025. According to him, the creators and arrangers of dangdut are becoming more innovative.

"I see the works of my friends from dangdut becoming more creative, more innovative. Likewise, from the arrangement side, the arrangers also seem to be getting better," said Rhoma Irama.

2. Dangdut's Determination Recognized by the World

This year's LCLD carries the theme "Dangdut Wave Goes to UNESCO". The Secretary General of the DPP PAMDI, Waskito, stated that this theme reflects the determination of dangdut to be recognized by the world.

"This Dangdut Wave will be a big wave in bringing dangdut to become a cultural treasure of Indonesia recognized by the world," said Waskito.
