Kapanlagi.com - The talent search event Dangdut Academy 8 has once again produced young talented individuals from various parts of Indonesia. One of them is Zhifanna, a 16-year-old girl from South Pesisir, West Sumatra. Having made it to the Top 42, Zhifanna expressed that her biggest motivation for participating in this competition is to make her parents happy.
Entering the Top 42 stage was something Zhifanna did not expect. She admitted that she actually does not sing dangdut very well. Before diving into the dangdut world, Zhifanna more often participated in singing competitions of pop songs in her hometown, West Sumatra. She only started learning dangdut music since the DA 6 era, or in 2023.
"I didn't expect it because Zhifanna actually, uh, doesn't really know how to dangdut. I just started learning dangdut from DA 6," Zhifanna revealed when met at the Emtek Indosiar Studio on Monday (20/7/2026).
Now, her happiness is even more complete because she has successfully joined her dream team, which is the Selfi Yamma team. Zhifanna admitted she is very happy because she has always wanted to meet Selfi and now she can actually be one of Selfi's students.
According to him, Selfi Yamma is a very good and humble person. In teaching, Selfi never forces her students to sing like her, but rather emphasizes understanding, appreciation of the song, and improving their vocal techniques to sound more polished.
Being in Group 4 gives Zhifanna ample preparation time. She uses her entire holiday to practice. She also actively learns from the performances of previous groups by paying attention to the comments and desires of the judges when evaluating her peers.
"Of course, we have to learn from the judges' comments; the judges want to see what we can do when we are competing," she explained.

If she successfully advances to the next round, she is committed to learning more, practicing, and increasing her worship. When asked about her target, Zhifanna has a big goal to be recognized by many people and hopes to reach the Top 2 stage.
"God willing, to the Top 2," she said hopefully.
Her efforts paid off when she was declared successful, immediately after her performance by the judges that night.
