Acting with Actress of the Same Caliber, Sha Ine Febriyanti, in 'BUDI PEKERTI', Omara Esteghlal Admits Feeling Pressured

Kapanlagi.com - Omara Esteghlal was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Indonesian Film Festival for his performance in BUDI PEKERTI. He is competing against Dwi Sasono, Arnold Kobogau, Marthino Lio, and Yoga Pratama for the Citra Award.

Although he is only nominated, the 24-year-old actor is grateful. Being invited to be a part of Wregas Bhanuteja's drama film is already a great honor.

"I can only be grateful and respect the decision of the jury. Being able to participate in the process of BUDI PEKERTI is the greatest blessing, it's a very sweet bonus," said Omara when met in Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, recently.

1. Casting Since 2020

Omara Esteghlal then told the story of how he could join the film BUDI PEKERTI. Apparently, he had auditioned in 2020. But only two years later did he get confirmation.

"I went through the casting process, but not in a conventional way. In 2020, they contacted me, but it was only two years later that I received an email stating that Wregas wanted to meet. In that meeting, Wregas gave a synopsis and presented about this film. After that, he gave me the script and tested me for the character Gora," said Omara.

2. Experiencing Pressure

Furthermore, Omara Esteghlal felt weak when he found out that Sha Ine Febriyanti would be his co-star. Omara did many scenes with his senior.

"From the first time I heard that I would be acting with Mbak Ine, my legs felt weak because she is one of the legendary actresses. When there were many scenes between me and her, it put pressure on me to perform at my best and find a balance. But everything could be overcome because our readings were very personal," said Omara.
