Becoming a Producer, Indro Ensures 'WARKOP DKI KARTUN' is Safe for Children

Kapanlagi.com - Falcon Pictures will soon air the series WARKOP DKI KARTUN on the Disney+ Hostar streaming service starting May 10. Although in cartoon form, this 13-episode series will showcase the typical humor of Dono, Kasino, and Indro, who are already legendary.

As a person who grew up with Warkop films, director Daryl Wilson revealed the challenges of turning it into a cartoon. Although targeted for children, the style of the three main characters must still remain.

"I grew up with Warkop films. When asked to work on a cartoon version of these three characters, how their comedy, humor, and silliness can appeal to children now. Of course, we want to maintain their essence and style in their interactions with each other. There is no difference, the challenge is actually how we create something new but with a nostalgic element," said Daryl during a virtual conference on Monday (3/5/2021).

1. Safe for Children to Consume

Indrodjojo Kusumonegoro, or commonly known as Indro Warkop, is involved as an executive producer in this cartoon project. Throughout the production process, he and the team have made efforts to ensure that the series is safe for children to consume. Considering that the film version itself sometimes contains adult content.

"Our target audience for this cartoon version is children. We also consider the educational factor here. We firmly believe that we are ready to release this cartoon with the hope that children will be happy without being exposed to inappropriate content," Indro emphasized in the same session.

2. Mo Sidik Voices Indro

WARKOP DKI CARTOON tells the story of Dono, Kasino, and Indro who are members of CHIIPS (Cara Hebat Ikut-Ikutan Penyelesaian Masalah Sosial). They often have unique ways of solving problems, which sometimes lead to other problems.

The voice actors are Wiwid Widyas Prihantoro as Dono, Dimas Kusnadi as Kasino, and comedian Mo Sidik as Indro. Their involvement was obtained through a difficult search process and has been approved by the children of the Warkop DKI personnel.
