Being the First Fashion Film in Indonesia, Dimas Anggara Reveals the Reason for Working on '#OOTD'

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Dimas Anggara feels nervous ahead of the screening of the film #OOTD (Outfit of The Designer) in theaters on January 25, 2024. Understandably, the film is Dimas' debut as a film director.

"I feel proud, nervous, satisfied, and I believe in my extraordinary films," said Dimas Anggara at Epicentrum XXI, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Monday (22/1/2024).

Dimas admitted that his first film as a director was able to be completed on time because of the great acting by the cast in the film #OOTD.

"So they played extraordinarily. They are the ones who helped me achieve my dream of becoming a director. Thank you to these creatures (pointing to the actors)," said Dimas.

Delly Malik, who is both a mother and a film producer, is said to be the inspiration for Dimas to make the film. Understandably, his own mother has been involved in the fashion world for a long time.

"Firstly, because my mother, Mrs. Delly, is also a model. She also has designer friends and my family has a strong sense of nationalism," said Dimas.

In addition, a film about the fashion theme has never been made before. That's why this 35-year-old man is interested and, of course, can introduce Indonesian fashion to foreign countries.

"So, we want to promote Indonesia in the eyes of foreign countries. Especially in terms of fashion. Indonesian fashion is highly respected abroad, as evidenced by neighboring countries adopting it," said Dimas.

"It's really disrespectful. Sorry, sorry, sorry. It turns out that works by our fellow countrymen are highly valued abroad. So, that's what we want to promote. So that future generations can continue and preserve it," Dimas concluded.

The film #OOTD is starred by top celebrities from the homeland, such as Jihane Almira, Rangga Wahyu Natta, Asmara Abigail, Givina Lukita, and Derby Romero. The film tells a story of love filled with betrayal and toxic relationships, with plot twists throughout the film, while incorporating the fashion theme as the backdrop for the characters' world.
