Cinesurya Will Collaborate with a Singapore Producer in the Film 'PERANG KOTA'

Kapanlagi.com - There is happy news coming from the Indonesian film industry. One of the film projects directed by Mouly Surya and produced by Rama Adi and Fauzan Zidni will collaborate with producer Anthony Chen. He is the director who won the Camera d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival with the film ILO ILO. In addition, they will also collaborate with producer Tan Si En from Graffe Picture in the film PERANG KOTA (THE CITY IS A BATTLEFIELD).

Their collaboration was announced when they received support from the Southeast Asia Co Production Grant from the Infocomm Media Development Authority along with 6 other feature film projects.

1. Film Adapted from the Novel by Mochtar Lubis

This film is an adaptation of the famous Indonesian novelist Mochtar Lubis. Director Mouly Surya admitted that she greatly admires the works of Mochtar Lubis, so she is very interested in adapting one of Mochtar Lubis' works into a film. Mouly also said that literature has a strong influence on her works. Since she was a child, Mouly has loved reading. He has long dreamed of adapting a literary work into a film. It is known that currently the film PERANG KOTA is in the development process, but unfortunately the pandemic situation like this does not allow the production to continue.

2. Perfect Achievement of Mouly Surya

Mouly Surya is the director of the phenomenal film titled MARLINA SI PEMBUNUH DALAM EMPAT BABAK. This film was able to win the Citra Award in 2018 as the best feature film. Not only that, this film also became the overall champion by winning 10 out of 22 categories at the 2018 Citra Awards. Not only winning in his own country, this film also achieved internationally. This film won the NETPAC Jury Award at the Five Flavours Asian Film Festival, held in Poland. Previously, Marlina also won other prestigious awards. Namely, the film with the best screenplay at the 11th FIFFS Morocco, Marsha Timoty won the award for best actress from the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and the award for best Asian Nest Wave film from The QCinema Film Festival, Philippines.
