Complete List of Winners of Bali International Film Festival (Balinale) 2022

Kapanlagi.com - The Bali International Film Festival (Balinale) 2022 event was successfully held on Saturday (11/16) night. There were a total of 4 competition categories announced, namely Short Documentary, Short Narrative Film, Documentary Drama, and Feature Narrative Film. That night, top Indonesian filmmakers were also present to witness the awarding of selected films at Balinale 2022.

After a rigorous selection process, the jury consisting of Ismail Basbeth (Indonesia), Robert Chappell (USA), Robin Gurney (Canada), Kelli Swazey (USA), and IGP Wiranegara (Indonesia) finally made their choices for each of the above categories and also several special awards for competition participants.

Short Documentary Category: HOMEBOUND (Indonesia), directed by Ismail Fahmi Lubis.
Short Narrative Film Category: MURDER TONGUE (Pakistan), directed by Ali Sohail Jaura.
Drama Documentary Category: MY CHILDHOOD, MY COUNTRY - 20 Years in Afghanistan (England), directed by Phil Grabsky and Shoaib Sharifi.
Feature Narrative Film Category: INSIDE A FUNERAL HALL (Republic of Korea), directed by Ho-hyun Lee.

In addition to the above 4 main categories, there are also several special awards given to participants, including:

Special Jury Award: MENTAWAI: SOUL OF THE FOREST (Germany), directed by Joo Peter.

Balinale a.k.a Bali International Film Festival was established in 2007 and is internationally recognized for its diverse film programs such as fiction, documentary, feature, and short films from Indonesia and internationally acclaimed award winners.
