Collaborating with Foreign Distributors, 'SATRIA DEWA: GATOTKACA' Will Be Screened in America and Canada

Kapanlagi.com - After a two-year delay due to the pandemic, the original Indonesian superhero film titled SATRIA DEWA: GATOTKACA finally premiered in theaters nationwide. On the first day of its release, the action drama starring Rizky Nazar managed to attract 52,985 viewers.

After four days of screening, the film directed by Hanung Bramantyo managed to collect 125,782 viewers, making it the fifteenth highest-grossing film this year.

1. Ready to Screen in America

The film SATRIA DEWA: GATOTKACA will not only be released in Indonesia. After several months of discussions, the distribution company Well Go USA will screen it in America and Canada.

"We have collaborated with Satria Dewa Studio to bring SATRIA DEWA GATOTKACA to North American audiences. We will announce the release date soon," said Tony Vandeerveerdonk, Executive Vice President of Well Go USA, as quoted from a video received by Kapanlagi.com.

Knowing that the film has received enthusiasm in the international market, Mochtar Sarman, Vice President of Operations at Satria Dewa Studio, expressed his pride. He hopes that in the future, many local superhero films will be screened in America.

"Getting appreciation from foreign countries is truly amazing. Hopefully, through this film, Indonesian superhero films can go international," said Mochtar Sarman.

3. Introducing to the Millennial Generation

SATRIA DEWA: GATOTKACA is the first film from the Satria Dewa Semesta franchise produced by Satria Dewa Studios. Therefore, in this opening film, it introduces to the current generation who Pandawa and Kurawa are.

"In this first film, we establish the birth of Pandawa and Kurawa to all our friends. Because Pandawa Kurawa, maybe for those my age, already know. But how about the millennial generation, my children? They don't know," explained Hanung Bramantyo.

4. There is a Special Mission

Furthermore, Hanung Bramantyo wants SATRIA DEWA: GATOTKACA to have many viewers. Because if it succeeds, it will arouse people's curiosity about history and make wayang orang (human puppetry) and museums popular again.

"Look, the Mahabharata wayang orang is very quiet in terms of audience, look at the Taman Mini museum of wayang orang, it's empty of visitors. If SATRIA DEWA: GATOTKACA can rise, the wayang orang and museum will be alive. We hope the film will work," said Hanung.
