1. 'PENYALIN CAHAYA' Becomes the Film with the Most Nominations for Piala Citra Awards

Taking place at the Jakarta Convention Center, the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) 2021 successfully held its prestigious Piala Citra Awards on November 10. This year marked the 41st edition of the esteemed film festival, which selected various Indonesian films across 22 categories.

The competition in this year's FFI 2021 was quite intense. Popular films such as 'NUSSA' and 'YUNI' were among the nominees. However, Netflix films like 'ALI & RATU RATU QUEENS,' 'SOBAT AMBYAR,' and 'PENYALIN CAHAYA' managed to win a total of 16 awards.

Although it will only be available on Netflix starting from January 13, 2022, 'PENYALIN CAHAYA' became the film with the most Piala Citra Awards at FFI. With a total of 12 Piala Citra Awards, 2021 became a lucky year for director Wregas Bhanuteja and his team.

Meanwhile, ALI & RATU RATU QUEENS don't want to lose. Winning 3 awards for Best Supporting Actress (Marissa Anita), a special award for Film Criticism Work, and becoming the Audience's Favorite Film, this film starring Iqbaal Ramadhan has earned its director, Lucky Kuswandi, a nomination for Best Director.

Aside from these two films, which tell stories of love, laughter, heartbreak, and friendship inspired and accompanied by the songs of the late Didi Kempot, SOBAT AMBYAR successfully won the Citra Trophy for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Netflix, as a platform for the best films, also showcases a series of Indonesian films that have won the Citra Trophy.
