"Actually, it's challenging for me, because I'm not a fearful person. I have never experienced anything mystical in my life. So, acting in a mystical setting is what makes it challenging for me," explained Fedi Nuril on KapanLagi Show, Monday (4/9/2025).

Meanwhile, Kimberly admitted she was interested in playing in SUKMA after hearing that Christine Hakim was involved.

"Actually, the initial synopsis was the same, but the storyline ended up being very different. But when I heard that Christine Hakim would be involved, I was like, 'I'm in. That's all I need,'" concluded Kimberly.

4. How Baim Wong Convincingly Approached the Actors

Baim Wong shared his experience of convincing the actors. He admitted he was surprised when Christine Hakim accepted his offer. Fortunately, she had watched his previous film. After learning that Baim was the director, Christine Hakim immediately agreed.

"After that, I offered it to all of them. Only Fedi, he was more into storytelling. He was telling stories and stories and stories. In the end, we explained it. And that was it," Baim revealed.

5. Hadn't Thought of Making a Horror Film

The story of the film SUKMA has never been adapted. Baim mentioned that he hadn't thought of making a horror film because he doesn't believe much in mystical things.

"But this one suddenly has something we can call a mirror, rather than an apparition. Finally, the story develops. Mother Christine is developed again. After Mother Christine enters, I changed 70% of everything. In the end, they all enter and adjust to their characters. So, if I say this is a story where all the players have to be good," concluded Baim.

7. Story Factors That Make Fedi Interested

Answering the question about why he has only now accepted a horror film, Fedi emphasized the story factor as the main reason.

"I always read first but I just haven't found a story that I like. Because I choose not just based on personal taste. But there are indeed good issues that we can raise to become a topic of conversation among the audience after watching," explained Fedi Nuril.

"Because after watching this discussion, what do you think? And this issue cannot be avoided by anyone. So besides the story being exciting and deep, it will also make the audience reflect on themselves rather than focusing on others after watching," he continued.
