Producer and CEO of Leo Pictures, Agung Saputra, stated that this film not only presents a family story but also invites the audience to reflect on the meaning of a mother's presence.

"Don't Throw Away Mother is a story that will invite us to understand the meaning of love, sacrifice, and the presence of a mother in our lives," said Agung Saputra.

This film is directed by Hadrah Daeng Ratu and produced by Agung Saputra. The story attempts to portray family conflicts that are close to everyday life, especially when children are faced with difficult choices in caring for their parents.

2. Nirina Zubir Transforms into Mother Ristiana

In this film, Nirina Zubir plays the character Mother Ristiana in three age phases, namely 40, 50, and 60 years. This transformation becomes one of the major challenges as Nirina has to portray the physical differences, gestures, and speaking style from each phase of her character's life.

In addition to Nirina Zubir, this film also stars Refal Hady, Amanda Manopo, Saputra Kori, Basmalah Gralind, Erika Carlina, Dwi Sasono, Saskia Chadwick, Fadly Faisal, Farrell Rafisqy, Jared Ali, and Humaira Jahra. Luna Maya and Yasmin Napper are also involved as executive producers alongside Nur Iman Syafe’i and Evi Surahmawati.

DON'T THROW AWAY MOM tells the story of Ristiana, a single mother raising her three children, Tama, Dewi, and Tria, after being left by her husband. A simple and struggle-filled life makes Ristiana strive to keep her family afloat, even as a major problem arises in the form of debt left by her husband.

As adults, Ristiana's three children face a dilemma in determining their stance towards their mother. The once warm family closeness slowly changes, causing Ristiana to feel distance and longing for her children.

Before the regular screening, this film will first hold a Gala Premiere Tour across Indonesia in 20 cities from May 30 to June 23, 2026. The film DON'T THROW AWAY MOM is scheduled to be released in Indonesian cinemas starting June 25, 2026.
