Forced to be Lovers in 'AKHIRAT: A LOVE STORY', Adipati Dolken and Della Dartyan Admit Feeling Ticklish

Kapanlagi.com - Adipati Dolken and Della Dartyan are involved in a romance fantasy film titled AKHIRAT: A LOVE STORY. In Jason Iskandar's debut feature, they are cast as a couple named Timur and Mentari.

Considering that Adipati and Della are close friends in real life, they admit that they find it amusing to act as a couple. Normally, they would talk using 'gua - elo' (slang for 'me - you'), but suddenly switching to 'aku - kamu' (standard Indonesian pronouns) sounds strange to them.

"I'm already very close to Dodot, to the point where we tease each other. So, building chemistry was quite challenging. Instead of calling each other 'gua - elo', we had to use 'aku - kamu'. When asked 'Have you eaten yet?', hmmm... it feels funny, ha ha ha. But it's fun," said Della during a virtual conference via Zoom on Tuesday (2/11/2021).

1. Know How to Make Della Angry

Although it's strange to be a couple in the movie, Adipati Dolken doesn't deny that his friendship with Della Dartyan lightens the process of reading. Because the director doesn't need to struggle to show natural closeness.

"Because of our friendship, the reading is beneficial because we don't have to get to know each other from the beginning again. We've been friends for a long time, I know what Della's personality is like. I even know how to make her angry," Adipati explained on the same occasion.

The reading process and character deepening for the film AKHIRAT: A LOVE STORY took quite a long time, which is three months. This is related to the pandemic that prevents the actors from meeting for a while.

"The reading itself took three months," said Adipati. "The first reading was in March 2020, then there was a pending pandemic and WFH (work from home), so we did some research. After WFH was finished, we continued the reading but started from the beginning again," Della explained.

AKHIRAT: A LOVE STORY tells the story of Timur and Mentari, who are in a romantic relationship despite their different religions. When they experience an accident, they wake up in a world between life and death where differences are not a barrier to be together.
