From Tik Tok Content to Film, Here's Why Manoj Punjabi Moves Fast in Producing 'IPAR ADALAH MAUT'

Kapanlagi.com - MD Pictures production house is ready to release a religious romance film titled IPAR ADALAH MAUT in May. The film, directed by Hanung Bramantyo, is adapted from viral content on TikTok owned by Elizasifaa.

Manoj Punjabi, as the producer, heard about the viral content of Elizasifaa from his team. In just one minute of explanation, he immediately became interested in filming it.

"When the team told me about viral content on TikTok, I asked what the story was, and in one minute of explanation, I immediately wanted to do it. How to find the source's owner, who turned out to be from Malang," said Manoj when met at MD Place, Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, on Friday (26/1/2024).

1. Too Big to Stay Silent

After obtaining the rights to adapt from Elizasifaa, Manoj Punjabi quickly moved to find a screenplay writer and director. Why did Manoj work on this film so quickly?

"This story is too big to just stay silent. Since April last year, after obtaining the license, we immediately started working on it. The timing might be a little late but it's already fast, it's been a year," said Manoj.

2. Twenty-Seventh Draft of the Screenplay

The process of transforming content from Tik Tok into a screenplay by Oka Aurora is said to be very intense. Deva Mahenra, as an actor, leaked that the screenplay used for filming is already in its twenty-seventh draft.

"The screenplay I read was the twenty-seventh draft. I'm sure this screenplay has been worked on thoroughly," Deva leaked on the same occasion.

IPAR ADALAH MAUT stars Michelle Ziudith as Nisa, Deva Mahenra as Aris, and Davina Karamoy as Rania. It tells the story of an affair conducted by a college student named Rania with her brother-in-law's husband.
