'IN MY PROSTRATION', A Love Story and Loyalty Adapted to the Big Screen

Kapanlagi.com - The production house Project 69 officially announced its debut film project titled IN MY PROSTRATION. This religious drama genre film will be directed by Rico Michael and features a lineup of famous actors such as Marcell Darwin, Vinessa Inez, Dennis Adhiswara, and several others.

Rico Michael, the director, revealed that this film is inspired by a true story. He stated that the main theme of this film is love and loyalty within a household, particularly about a wife who remains faithful despite facing her husband's mistakes.

“The idea for the film comes from stories among us, based on the true story of our friend. This becomes something interesting. A wife who sees something more than her husband so she is willing to forgive her husband and sincerely sees her husband transformed by God,” Rico said when met in the Pejaten area, South Jakarta, recently.

The film IN MY PROSTRATION not only attracts attention because of its story but also because it involves cross-country collaboration between Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Yusoff Al Aswad, the producer from the Project 69 studio in Singapore, hopes that this film will be well received in all three countries.

1. Large Market Share

"I hope that this collaboration with Indonesian filmmakers can bring positive contributions to the advancement of Indonesian cinema as well," said Yusoff.

A similar sentiment was expressed by Tom, a representative of the Project 69 team from Singapore. He is optimistic that the religious drama genre has a large market share in Indonesia. "We have many plans prepared for this production house. But we hope that the film IN MY PROSTRATION can be well received by Indonesian moviegoers," said Tom.

The shooting process for IN MY PROSTRATION will begin on March 8, with locations in Garut and Jakarta. Rico mentioned that this film will be a unique challenge for him because he has previously worked mostly on horror films.

"This film will be my first work in the religious drama genre. Previously, I made many horror films. This is certainly an interesting challenge for me," said Rico, who has studied film in the United States.

2. Touch the Emotional Side

Marcell Darwin, one of the main actors, admitted he was touched when he first read the script. He felt that the story of this film touches a very deep emotional side, especially about the sacrifice and love of a wife.

“I was first called by Mas Donny to come and immediately meet Pak Rico as the director. He told me about this, and I listened until I felt sad. The love Aisyah has for Farid is so immense. When I read the script at the ending, I cried a lot just reading it,” said Marcell.

The production process of this film is scheduled to last for 15 days, and the team will start workshops on February 17. Rico hopes this film can be released in October 2025. “Please pray for us, the date we are aiming for is in October 2025,” Rico concluded.
