Making Horror Film Based on Popular Podcast 'DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE', Producer Manoj Punjabi Maintains Film Production Standards

Kapanlagi.com - Following the success of KKN DI DESA PENARI and SEWU DINO which garnered millions of viewers, Manoj Punjabi announces his latest horror film production. This time titled DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE, directed by Awi Suryadi.

Manoj admits that initially, the film based on the popular podcast would not require a large budget. However, to maintain the production quality, the budget was increased.

"Initially, we wanted to make this film with a mid-budget, but it turned out to be a high budget. Because if it's not a high budget, it won't be relevant in today's era," said Manoj at MD Place, Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, on Thursday (15/6/2023).

As a producer, Manoj Punjabi has three financing scales: low budget, mid-budget, and high budget. Now he ensures that his horror film will be in the high budget financing.

"Now we have to aim higher according to MD's standards because we have worked hard, the script is complicated, and the actors are also selected. We maintain this quality to maintain the film standards in Indonesia. Don't let only one or two of my films succeed, while others fail. We don't want that," added Manoj.

2. Based on Popular Podcast Content

The film DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE is adapted from one of the horror podcast contents titled First Love from Do You See What I See. The reason why this story was chosen is because it is interesting and has a plot twist.

"I received this material from the creative team. When I heard the story, I immediately felt that it was different, terrifying, and unpredictable. We have had several collaborations with the Do You See What I See podcast," said Manoj Punjabi.
