Kapanlagi.com - Artist Masayu Anastasia has just completed filming her latest movie titled PAINTING HOPE IN THE SKY OF INDIA, directed by Emilka Bias. This film, produced by HERS Production, is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 12, 2024. Masayu plays the role of Devi, a girl from Kerinci who travels to India in this hopeful story.

When asked about her filming experience in India, Masayu admitted that she really enjoyed the process. According to her, India is not like what people often talk about.

"It was fun, I really enjoyed it, it was exciting," said Masayu in the Saharjo area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (11/12/2024).

1. Visit Iconic Places

She expressed that many people refer to India as a dirty and filthy country, but she feels that this is not entirely true. Masayu even filmed in Nepal before going to India and compared the two places.

"People say India is really dirty and filthy. Because when we were filming in Nepal, it was really dirty. But when we went there (India), it wasn't, you know," said Masayu.

In India, Masayu and her team were given the opportunity to shoot in iconic places, such as the neighborhoods of Bollywood stars' houses. While there, Masayu also hoped to meet Shah Rukh Khan, but that wish has not yet come true.

2. Challenging Role

"We filmed there in places that in America would be like the houses of celebrities," she revealed.

"If you look on Instagram, it’s like, 'Oh this is Shah Rukh Khan's house,' hoping to see Shah Rukh Khan, but he wasn’t there," she continued.

The role of Devi is quite challenging for Masayu because it requires a physical transformation in a short time. Previously, Masayu had just filmed a horror movie, and for her role in this film, she had to lose 7 kilograms in three weeks to maintain continuity of the role.

3. Quite Difficult

"In three weeks I have to lose 7 kilos. So, it’s really hard to find food, until finally I couldn’t exercise either. But yeah, it’s just fun."

He also shared the challenges he faced while looking for food in India during his diet. According to him, dieting in India is quite difficult due to limited access to healthy food and exercise.

"So, looking for food and finally not being able to, not having any exercise is just fun," said Masayu.

4. Feeling Lucky

Masayu also feels lucky because the places he visited in India are very well maintained in terms of cleanliness, contrary to what some people think.

"I myself have never been to India, what people say is dirty doesn’t apply to me. Maybe there are some, but the places I passed by, Alhamdulillah, are not dirty," he revealed.
