Maudy Ayunda and Putri Marino Selected to Star in the Film 'LOSMEN BU BROTO', Because of Instagram Followers Count?

Kapanlagi.com - In October, it was announced that a family drama film titled LOSMEN BU BROTO would be directed by Ifa Isfansyah and Eddie Cahyono. The film is an adaptation of the Losmen series by the late Wahyu Sihombing, which was booming in the 80s.

Maudy Koesnaedi was chosen as the main character named Bu Broto, followed by the strong actor Mathias Muchus playing the character Pak Broto. Meanwhile, the actors playing their children are still kept secret to pique the curiosity of the audience.

A day before shooting in Yogyakarta, the production house held a press conference to announce the previously hidden cast. There is Putri Marino playing Mbak Pur, Maudy Ayunda as Jeng Sri, Baskara Mahendra as Mas Tarjo. All three are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Broto.

Then there is Danilla Riyadi as Kirana, a friend of Jeng Sri, Marthino Lio playing the character of Mas Jarot, Kenes Andari as Bu Angga, and Erick Estrada playing the character of Mas Atmo.

2. Because of the Number of Followers?

The selected actors are already well-known in the entertainment industry, even having millions of followers on social media. It is not surprising that there is an assumption that this is used to boost the film's popularity when it is released.

However, Andi Boediman, as the producer of Ideasource Entertainment, stated that followers are not the basis for selection. The actors have been targeted for a long time because of their individual capacities.

"Among the many casts I have, I have worked with Maudy Koesnaedi in KELUARGA CEMARA, then I saw the chemistry between Putri Marino and Marthino Lio in SULTAN AGUNG which was great. I wanted to pair them again. Then Baskara Mahendra because I like BEBAS. So, each actor is chosen based on personal preference, not because of their Instagram followers," he emphasized during the press conference on Sunday (12/13).
